How to use this suggested itinerary
This is a planning example, not a fixed package or guaranteed timetable. It works best when you have five usable days, rather than counting two short flight days as full sightseeing days. Confirm attraction access near your travel date, book hotels separately and share your arrival and departure times before finalising the route.
Day 1 — arrive and settle into Baku
Arrange your airport transfer and leave time to check in. Keep the first day local: a short city drive or independent time near your accommodation is easier to adjust if your flight is delayed. Tell the driver whether you only need the airport transfer or also want a separate hourly booking.
Day 2 — Gobustan from Baku
Plan a dedicated outing for the rock-art area and your chosen mud-volcano stop. Confirm exactly which places you mean: access and local transport arrangements can differ. Agree the order with the driver, keep time for the visits themselves and return to your Baku accommodation. Tickets and any separately operated local activity are outside the driving fare.
Day 3 — west towards Gabala
Leave Baku for the Shamakhi–Gabala direction and choose a small number of stops. A lake stop and a mountain activity should be fitted around the drive rather than treated as quick roadside visits. Stay in Gabala if it supports the next day’s route. Share the actual hotel address because the name of the town is not enough for a precise pickup plan.
Day 4 — Sheki and an overnight
Continue to Sheki and allow time to explore independently. If you want professional interpretation inside attractions, arrange a guide separately. Staying overnight avoids making the day entirely about the drive back. Confirm whether the driver stays available between visits or whether the booking is only a point-to-point transfer.
Day 5 — return with a flight buffer
Return to Baku, leaving room for breaks. If you fly the same day, calculate the itinerary backwards from the airline’s check-in requirement; a morning regional return and an early flight may not be compatible. If the flight timing makes this day too tight, spend the fourth night back in Baku or remove a regional stop.
How the transport price is calculated
Send the dates, hotel nights, passengers, luggage and requested availability each day. This route needs one confirmed multi-day quote; adding individual day-return fares will not describe the same service. Waiting and stops along the agreed journey are free, as is cancellation. Hotels, meals, tickets and separate guide services are not included.
A version with fewer hotel changes
If unpacking once matters more than covering several regions, keep Baku as your base and choose fewer regional outings. You can replace the Sheki overnight with another city day or a closer excursion that fits your priorities. This is a different transport plan, so request a fresh total instead of adding together isolated transfer prices. The best version is the one that matches your flights and preferred pace.
Confirm the handover between each day
For every day, record the pickup hotel, luggage, main destination and final hotel. Distinguish days when you keep the car for visits from days when you only need a transfer. If you arrange activities independently, share their meeting times before the route is confirmed. Keep admissions, hotels and meals separate from the driver’s quotation so you can see the complete trip budget without assuming they are included.
